CEU Course Description

Veterans are an at-risk population for a variety of mental health conditions including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and substance use. Therefore, it is essential that mental health professionals are able to identify and treat these conditions in a way that is helpful and supportive of the unique patient experience of having been in the military. This course reviews information regarding the military experience, how to diagnose and treat PTSD and a variety of other mental health conditions that veterans often face, and why case management is important. 

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Explore the reasons why veterans are an at-risk population for mental health conditions.
  2. Review the symptoms of PTSD and how to diagnose and treat it.
  3. Examine the unique reasons why case management is important for veterans.
  4. Identify specific services that are available for veterans who are experiencing behavioal health issues.
  5. Analyze case studies that provide practical solutions for veterans who are seeking therapeutic interventions.
